New Patients with Aged Pension Cards

New or Existing Patients with Commonwealth Senior Health Card

From 1st December 2024, our standard private fees will apply to the above groups.

This is a result of Medical rebates falling further and further behind the real costs of providing our services.

The following chart (from AMA) compares average wages and inflation with an index of Medicare rebates. The growing coloured gap had been subsidised by our clinics and doctors and we can no longer take on new patients on this basis.

Summary of Changes:

  • New patients with Aged Pension Cards
    • standard private fees apply for consultations and minor procedures on the day.
  • New or Existing patients with Commonwealth Senior Health Cards
    • Standard private fees apply for consultations and minor procedures on the day.
    • To ease the change, appointments already booked until the end of February 2025 will be honoured.
  • POS fees for procedures will be discounted for both groups.

*Existing patients with current Aged Pension Cards are not affected by this change
